For the first time, Scott Bader Asia Pacific will be exhibiting at the China International Adhesives and Sealants exhibition in INTEX Shanghai, from 1st ? 3rd December 2010. They will be showcasing their innovative new Crystic Crestabond range of primerless methyl methacrylate (MMA) structural adhesives, designed for bonding metals, composites and plastics. Scott Bader will also be promoting their long established Crystic Crestomer urethane acrylate structural adhesives range. Crestomer adhesives are specified worldwide by leading fibreglass boat builders, who apply them in a variety of demanding hull and deck structural bonding applications. On the Scott Bader stand (No. A54) there will be regular practical bonding demonstrations of both Crestabond and Crestomer structural adhesives, using manual 380ml cartridge dispensing handguns. They will be bonding a wide variety of dissimilar materials together such as: aluminium, stainless steel, galvanized steel, fibreglass, as well as PET and ABS engineering plastics. Visitors to the stand will also have an opportunity to use the handguns and do some bonding for themselves. Representatives from Scott Bader Asia Pacific along with the Adhesives Global Business Manager for Scott Bader will be available throughout the show to answer technical questions about the suitability of products for different types of bonding applications and give advice on best practice techniques for reliable adhesive application. The Crystic Crestabond range is aimed at manufacturing companies in the bus, truck, rail, construction, marine and wind energy markets looking to use a tough, high performance gap filling structural adhesive that bonds reliably long term to a variety of metal, composite or plastic substrates. All Crestabond adhesives in the current range have a 10:1 mix ratio. They are available in a choice of pack sizes from 380ml coaxial cartridges applied using manual or pneumatic hand gun applicators, to 25 litre pail or 200 litre drum bulk supply options for use with proprietary dosing machines. Crestabond is a new addition to the Scott Bader adhesives portfolio, building on over 30 years of proven adhesives technology experience in composite applications with its well established range of Crystic Crestomer urethane acrylate adhesives. Mr. Ian Lancey, Global Business Manager, Adhesives for Scott Bader commented: "After two years of R D work, successful field tests and positive feedback from a number of already established customers using Crestabond products, we know that we have an excellent new methacrylate adhesives range."
